A promissory note must be signed by the borrower before a loan is disbursed to a 学生 account. A promissory note is a contract between a borrower and a lender that includes all the terms and conditions under which the borrower promises to repay the loan.
The Direct Loan Master Promissory Note can be completed electronically at the U.S. 教育部 website. For information on Direct loans, please contact the UNH 金融援助 Department.
Direct Parent PLUS Loans and Direct Grad PLUS Loans - Both parent and grad PLUS loans are part of the Federal Direct Loan Program. Begin your application and sign your promissory note at the U.S. 教育部 website.
选择贷款 - Alternative Loan applications must be completed and promissory notes returned to your lender by early August in order for proper credit to appear on the 学生 account for fall semester.
Non-University Scholarships
Non-university scholarships are those that come from an outside organization (scholarships that are not issued by UNH).
Students who have received non-university scholarship awards should forward the scholarship checks to UNH promptly. Non-university scholarship funds will not be credited to 学生 accounts until the checks have been delivered to 学生账户.

If the check is made payable to the 学生, it should be endorsed with the following statement: "Pay to the Order of UNH" then the 学生's signature.

- If the 学生 has received an award letter from the scholarship donor, please enclose that with the scholarship check. This will help ensure that the funds are posted accurately. Please try to avoid forwarding the award letter separately from the check.

Most loans and grants are split over the academic year: half toward fall semester and half toward spring. This means, for example, that a $1,000 loan will be applied in equal $500 payments each semester. Students and families borrowing alternative or PLUS loans intending that they be applied other than half-fall/half-spring should specify this on their loan applications.
Federal Work Study Program
Work-study funds are not applied to the 学生's account. These funds are paid biweekly through a paycheck to the 学生 throughout the semester based on the number of hours worked in work-study positions. Job openings are posted on 未经批准的职业.
Company/Agency Sponsorship
Students receiving sponsorship by government agencies, 参加后备役军官训练军团, 学区, 公司, or other third parties should forward notices, 法案授权, or other evidence of the sponsorship on official letterhead to:

Non-university sponsorships must be pre-approved by the UNH Credit Department. Sponsorships that specify completion of coursework prior to payment are not accepted. If a company or agency has a reimbursement-to-学生 policy, the 学生 is responsible for paying the total charges to UNH at the time of registration.
